Will Valle is an abstract painter based in San Francisco’s Mission District. Originally from the suburbs of Boston, he relocated to San Francisco in 2018.

Roused by nature, emotion, and relationships, his works are energetic, raw, and intended to bring color to life. Valle is inspired by the works of Larry Poons, Joan Mitchell and William de Kooning.

His latest series, Horizons, began with thick lines dividing solid blocks of color, and ended with paint erupting across those lines. With each line representing a boundary, the artist’s intention is to inspire the viewer to break boundaries of their own.

“Although my paintings are not intended to be representational, viewers often describe what they see as fireworks, sparks, even palm trees. My ultimate interest is not just what you see, but in what you feel.”

Will is self-taught. He graduated from Syracuse University in New York in 2015. He has worked as an artist and in the tech community in San Francisco since moving to the city. The artist’s work is included in private collections throughout the US, and is on view at venues primarily in San Francisco and Palm Springs. He maintains a studio at Art Explosion Studios in San Francisco.
